Leadership Labs: Powerful Conversation

Most business conversations occur as discussions. "Discussion" comes from the Ancient Latin and literally means "to cut off or take apart percussion." It also means "to cut off all alternatives and take the best one." That becomes "the decision." Businesses need to have discussions to face fierce competition, move with speed and react to daily, business situations.
Another type of conversation is a "Powerful Conversation." It comes from the ancient conversation of "dialogue." The root of this word is from the Ancient Greek and literally means "words flowing through." Powerful Conversation is about possibilities. All alternatives and different points of view are encourage and welcome. The goal of a Powerful Conversation is not to reach to a decision, but to seek a higher learning or awareness through possibility.
